Lighthouse Telecom, LLC is a state licensed communications firm, located in Newton,
Massachusetts which was established in 1995 by two former Bell Systems Telephone Executives,
Jack Forrest and Leon Cote. Together they bring 70 years of extensive experience to Lighthouse
Telecom LLC.
Background
Jack began his telecommunications career with New York Telephone in 1965 as a sales executive.
His Bell Systems career included employment at New England Telephone, AT&T, and NYNEX, spanning
nearly three decades and including positions in sales, data processing, education, assessment,
and as Director of Marketing. Jack's educational background includes a Bachelor's in Economics
from Boston College, a Master's in Business from Suffolk University, and a Master's in Military
Science from the Command and General Staff College of the U.S. Army. Data processing education
was received at the Bell Systems Program at Cooperstown, NY.
Leon's telecommunication career began with New England Telephone in 1971 as an installer
repairman. He continued at NET in network/toll departments, receiving detailed education of the
Bell Systems network hierarchy. Building on that experience, his career expanded to include
promotion to data product management, implementation of the original ATM networks for all major
banks in New England, and as a marketing executive with New England Telephone, AT&T and NYNEX.
Leon's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from
Suffolk University and a Comprehensive Bell System Management & Technology Curriculum.
Upon retirement from NYNEX, now VERIZON, Jack and Leon became telecommunications entrepreneurs
in the payphone industry, based upon the FCC's favorable ruling of payphone deregulation.
Lighthouse Telecom LLC, was thus established on their solid experiential background. Jack
served as President of Lighthouse Telecom until his retirement in 1998. He continues to serve
an active role in a consultant capacity as President Emeritus.
Under the dynamic leadership of Leon Cote as President, in September of 2000 Lighthouse Telecom
diversified and enhanced its payphone product line by adding ATM machines, providing value
added services and further strengthening its relationship with existing clients. This broadened
scope enables Lighthouse Telecom to offer expanded benefits and services to prospective clients
as well.
Today, Lighthouse Telecom installs and maintains Payphones and ATM machines throughout the New
England Region.
An example of current business locations and markets Lighthouse Telecom services are
supermarket chains: shopping malls and minimarts: educational facilities: hotels/motels:
laundromats: motor vehicle registries: restaurants/taverns: donut shop chains: gas stations:
variety and convenience stores.
Lighthouse Telecom LLC uses designated contractors for selected services in order to keep costs
at a minimum and to maintain our competitive edge in the payphone and ATM industries. This
approach benefits our clients through a better rate of compensation. "Bigger Isn't Always
